April began with a cold and snowy ride; gear problems in a '10' and a planned switch to fixed; accident in the club '25' owing to slipped gear; short tour to Wales; club '30' (1st handicap); ordered a new Holdsworth frame; a '25' ridden after camping on the roadside!

Back to school this month; helped at the Middlesex Road Club's 12 hour time trial; the 'Last Chance' 25 mile time trial; improved to 1:07:52 and took 1st handicap; there was to be a Northwood Wheelers track championship, but sadly it rained and it was postponed to October.

Racing weekend on the Bath Road; improved to 1:06:24; watched the national Hill Climb championship; annual freewheeling championship.
