In February 2018 I was delighted to receive a letter from Brian Major, who features frequently in this website’s accounts of the Northwood Wheelers. He’s frequently mentioned in the club newsletters, for example. He included some more information about the club’s history, and some photographs (see gallery below).

Shortly before Christmas 2013, I received a telephone call from one of the founding members of the Northwood Wheelers, Colin Turner. Shortly after that, he very kindly emailed his reminiscences of the early days of the club, which I incorporated in the Club History page.

I've also received a packet of material from Colin in the post. This included a stack of club newsletters, and some photographs (below). 

During my irregular scouring of the web for stories about the Northwood Wheelers, I came across this 2007 issue of the LightWeight News. The author seems quite keen on my father's cycling diaries!

Not terribly significant, I guess, but Northwood Wheelers has been cited in this Wikipedia page on Rene Menzies. I suppose someone must be reading these pages!  But perhaps a little worrying that 50-year-old diaries are considered authoritative!

The Spannerhead Bikes and Bits blog lists this site in the post "Useful Links", saying

– lovely site dedicated to a long lost London Cycling club with lots of period photos and information about cycling in the 1940′s and 50′s, possibly the heyday of British cycling.

The rather excellent GreenJersey blog links to my father's one and only 12hr event.  Pity there's no onward link to this site!  He also pinched a picture of Alan Grive.

In 2008, I received this email from a former member of the Northwood Wheelers, Alan Grive. Alan first contacted me a couple of months ago, having stumbled across these pages while Googling the web. he promised to unearth some photos for these pages...

At the end of 2022, I received an email from Martin Bridge. He (very helpfully) pointed out some problems with the website, but also mentioned his father Rodney, a former member of the club. I have completely rebuilt the site, so the technical problems should be sorted.

I was doing one of my periodic internet searches for information about the Northwood Wheelers, when I came across two Northwood Wheelers medals awarded to Roger Bingham in 1952. Bizarrely, these have surfaced at a Czech numismatic auction site (that link may break).

One is for the 10 mile club record that Roger set on 14th May 1952 - 24:59, while the other was awarded to Roger for that year's 10 mile club championship. Here are images of the medals.
